Archana Chandhoke was born on 2 July 1982 in Chennai, where she was raised. She grew up in a household that included her parents, Rakesh Lal and Nirmala Lal, and a younger sister named Anita. Archana has said she was an introverted child, and she originally aspired to become a physical training teacher. Her family life changed early when she lost her father.

Career

Archana built her career as a television host and actor in the Tamil entertainment industry. She began hosting on television and made a noted TV-hosting debut with the program Comedy Time in 2015. Over the years she became a familiar presence on Tamil reality programming, hosting shows such as Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Lil Champs, Ilamai Pudhumai, Super Mom (which she co-hosted with her daughter in 2018), Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Seniors, and more.

Her work on television has been recognised with multiple hosting honours. She received awards from Zee Kudumbam Viruthugal and the Ananda Vikatan Nambikkai Virudhugal for Best Host across 2018 and 2019.

Alongside presenting, Archana has pursued acting.
