Early life and background

Arjun Aneja was born on 11 June 1987 in Sonipat, Haryana, and grew up with roots in Gurugram. He attended Holy Child School in Sonipat and later studied at Delhi University. During his school years he competed in table tennis at the national level.

After graduating, Aneja initially worked as a corporate accountant in Gurugram for several months before deciding to pursue modeling. He trained in acting at the Sai Gurukul Academy Of Performing Arts in Delhi for six months, then moved to Mumbai to build a career in the entertainment industry.

Career

Aneja began as a model and appeared in a large number of advertising campaigns. Early in his Mumbai years he landed an advertisement with Anil Kapoor and went on to feature in more than 30 ads alongside prominent actors for brands including HDFC and SBI. He also walked ramps at fashion weeks while continuing to study performing arts and audition for screen roles.

His on-screen debut came in television and film roles. Aneja’s first film appearance was in Neerja (2016), in which he played Aneesh Bhanot. Around that time he appeared in TV serials, including Balika Vadhu (2015) and roles in shows such as Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi, Sadda Haq, Ishq Mein Marjawan (2017) and Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai (2018). He moved into short films and web series as well — his short film Solo was released on YouTube in March 2020, and he appeared in the MX Player series Hello Mini in 2021 as Prateek Basotia.

In 2023 Aneja reached a wider audience with the role of Tapan Manek in the Bollywood film Satyaprem Ki Katha, a part that brought him notable attention. That same year he also participated in the reality-format web series Temptation Island India, which streamed on JioCinema.
