Early life and backgroundAshiesh Roy was born on 18 May 1965 in Delhi. He grew up in the city, attended Raisina Bengali School in New Delhi and later graduated from Kirori Mal College. His nationality was Indian and his zodiac sign was Taurus.
Career
Roy began his performing career in theatre before moving into television. His on-screen debut came with the TV series Byomkesh Bakshi in 1997. He became widely recognized for playing the role of Tanveer in the sitcom Yes Boss, which aired on SAB TV beginning in 1999.
Across a career spanning television and film, Roy appeared in a number of popular Indian serials, including Movers & Shakers (1998), Baa Bahu Aur Baby (2006), Sasural Simar Ka (2011) and Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi (2016). While in hospital in May 2020 he spoke about facing financial difficulties while trying to pay for ongoing medical treatment. His mother had died of cancer in 2008.
Ashiesh Roy died on 24 November 2020 at his home in Mumbai. He was 55 years old at the time of his death. Reports indicated the cause of death as kidney failure.
