Ashok Elluswamy completed his undergraduate engineering studies in electronics and communication at The College of Engineering, Guindy in Chennai. Career

Elluswamy began his professional career in Chennai, joining WABCO Vehicle Control Systems in 2010 as a software engineer. There he focused on real-time performance guarantees for actuators via brake actuation modules and contributed to onboard and offboard diagnostics software for vehicle electronic control units. He left WABCO in 2012.

Following that role, he spent time as a research intern at Volkswagen Electronics Research Lab in Belmont, California. In 2014 he joined Tesla as a software engineer for the company’s Autopilot division. Over the years at Tesla he moved up through engineering ranks: serving as a Senior Software Engineer, then Senior Staff Software Engineer, and later taking on leadership as Director of the Autopilot organization.
