Ashwin Babu was born on 1 August 1985 in Tenali, Andhra Pradesh. Raised in a family with ties to the film and entertainment world, he is the younger brother of television presenter and filmmaker Ohmkar. His father, N. V. Krishna Rao, worked as a doctor and is deceased; his mother’s name has not been publicly listed. Ashwin has two brothers, Ohmkar and Kalyan Babu, and a sister, Srivalli. He follows Hinduism and holds Indian nationality.

Career

Ashwin entered the public eye through television before transitioning to films. In 2010 he appeared as a contestant on the dance reality show Aata Season 3 on Zee Telugu. His feature film debut came in 2012 when his brother Ohmkar launched him in the movie Genius, directed by Ohmkar, in which Ashwin played the character Yasir.

Following his debut, Ashwin continued to build a career in Telugu cinema. He played the role of Rishi in Jatha Kalise (2015) and attracted widespread audience appreciation for his performance as the character Ashwin in the horror-comedy Raju Gari Gadhi (2015). He reprised this association with the franchise in Raju Gari Gadhi 2 (2017) and Raju Gari Gadhi 3 (2019). Other projects include a role in Nanna Nenu Naa Boyfriends (2016) and a performance as Abhay in Hidimba (2023).
