Asit Kumarr Modi was born on 24 December 1966 in Pune, Maharashtra. Raised in a family of Gujarati heritage, he attended Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Vidyalaya and Jr. College in Mumbai before completing a Bachelor of Commerce at Shri Chinai College of Commerce & Economics. Modi began his involvement with theatre and performance during his school and college years, earning recognition for directing and acting in plays.

He worked as a lighting designer for Gujarati stage productions and later managed production and creative departments for television serials in regional and national broadcasting.
