Early life and background

Asthik Avinash Shetty hails from Surathkal in Mangalore, Karnataka. Born on 18 July, he grew up in a family that includes his father Shridhar Shetty, his mother Sukanya and siblings Ajith Shetty and Archana Shetty, the latter known as a fashion blogger. He attended Sri Mahalingeshwara English Medium High School in Surathkal and later studied at SDM College of Business Management in Mangalore, where he completed a Bachelor of Human Resource Development.

As a youngster he pursued cricket and represented the Mangalore zone. His initial ambitions leaned toward sport rather than the performing arts, but college activities and event hosting helped shift his interests toward entertainment.

Career

Asthik moved into modelling and acting after college. He won regional modelling titles including Mr. Mangaluru in 2007 and later Mr. South India in 2012. Those pageant successes opened doors in advertising and modelling assignments, and he featured in commercials for brands such as Coca‑Cola and MRF tyres.

He undertook a short acting course in Mumbai and began taking roles in regional films. His early screen work included the Tulu film Chella Pilli and a notable antagonist role in the Kannada film Power Star, in which he shared screen space with Puneeth Rajkumar. He later played the lead in the Tulu film Jai Tulunadu (2016), a role that brought further visibility in the Tulu film community and earned him a Best Actor Popular Award at the Mukta Tulu Film Awards in 2016.

Beyond Tulu and Kannada projects, Asthik has appeared in Telugu productions and in Hindi cinema, including the 2016 film Meri Beti Mera Maan. His credits also list appearances in films titled Sreemanta and Badmash.
