Early life and background

Atul Kumar Agrawal was raised in Banda, Uttar Pradesh. Born on 29 July, he attended DAV Inter College in Banda before moving on to higher studies. His academic background includes a BSc in Applied Geology/Earth Science and a Bachelor of Journalism and Mass Communication from Mahatma Gandhi Chitrakoot Gramodaya Vishwavidyalaya. He later completed an MBA in Marketing and Human Resource Management at Bhilai Institute of Technology, Durg, and an LLB from Bundelkhand University, Jhansi.

Career

Atul Agrawal began his career in broadcast journalism in March 2002 with Doordarshan Kendra in New Delhi. After nearly two years he worked as an associate producer and anchor at Zee Media Corporation Ltd. His trajectory then took him to Network18 Media & Investments Ltd. (Noida) in March 2005 as a news anchor and senior producer, where he spent over two years and covered major stories.

In November 2007 Agrawal joined News24 in Noida as an AEP and senior anchor, contributing to coverage of prominent political and security stories. He moved to Voice of India Television Network in November 2008 as group editorial head and, in March 2010, became channel head for India News Bihar & Jharkhand. His responsibilities included editorial leadership and producing special reports.

Between October 2011 and March 2012 he served as associate executive editor and anchor at Sai Prasad Group of Companies in Noida, and in April 2012 he became executive editor at Samachar Plus. At Samachar Plus he worked on investigative and feature pieces, including reports involving senior public figures and live interviews with officials.

After Samachar Plus, Agrawal joined News18 India in New Delhi as an executive producer and hosted a program titled "Bulletin with Atul Agrawal." He later worked as an editor for News World India in Noida and had roles with IBN7 Live.

In June 2016 Agrawal launched his own Hindi news channel, Hindi Khabar. That same month he established MBIZ Tech Consulting Pvt. Ltd., an international consulting company based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Over the course of his career he has hosted shows such as "News Show Jo Kahunga Sach Kahunga" and "Big Bulletin," and has handled responsibilities ranging from event management to satellite operations, brand positioning and web analytics.
