Atulya Kaushik was born on 27 May 1995 in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, and grew up with ties to New Delhi. He completed his schooling at Dayawati Modi Academy and went on to study computer science at Vellore Institute of Technology, where he earned a B.Tech degree. During his youth he was active in sports and achieved a silver medal in an under-16 state-level swimming competition in Uttar Pradesh.

Career

After internships across the industry, Atulya began his professional career as a software engineer, joining Google in 2015 as a Software Development Engineer. He later moved to Instamojo in 2016 to lead Partnerships and Alliances. Experiences during his early startup stints, including exposure to funding constraints and large-scale layoffs, shaped his perspective on job security and renewed his focus on entrepreneurship.

In July 2017 Atulya registered the domain prepinsta.com, an inexpensive initial investment that became the seed of his venture. He invited longtime friends Aashay Mishra and Manish Agarwal to join as co-founders. What started as a passion project evolved into a full-time business; the founders left salaried roles and established an office in Noida.

Under Atulya’s leadership, the company focused on helping students prepare for campus placements and upskill for high-paying roles. The team launched PrepInsta Prime, an OTT-style platform dedicated to placement preparation and upskilling, on 7 July 2021. The service was designed with a streaming-like interface to boost engagement and provide structured learning for job seekers.
