Early life and background
Avantika Mohan was born on 11 October 1985 in Dehradun, India. Raised in a middle-class family that lived for a period in Bhutan, she attended a convent school in Dehradun. From a young age she worked alongside her mother at the family boutique and began selling beauty products door to door at 14, an early start to supporting herself financially.

After completing school she moved to Delhi for work and had a brief role at AOL Wipro. She later returned to Dehradun and participated in pageantry, becoming the first Miss Uttaranchal. About a year after winning the contest she began a career as a flight attendant, first with Indigo Airlines and then joining Emirates in 2005. That role led her to relocate to Dubai in 2007.

Avantika built a long career in aviation, working with Emirates as a flight attendant for around fifteen years. The COVID-19 pandemic brought a change: she left that role after being laid off and pivoted to entrepreneurship and digital content.
