Early life and background

Avinash Dwivedi was born on 19 August 1988 in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. Raised in a family from that region, he attended schools in Delhi, including Cosmos Public School in Badarpur and Raisina Bengali Senior Secondary School. From a young age he gravitated toward dance, competing in school events and pursuing formal training in the art. A childhood viewing of Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai and Hrithik Roshan’s performance left a lasting impression and helped shape his decision to pursue performing arts rather than a conventional professional path his parents originally envisaged.

Career

Dwivedi began working as a dance teacher in Delhi and used earnings from teaching to fund theatre workshops and further training. Early practical platforms included participation in dance contests and an appearance on the online dance show Ibibo i.videostar in 2009, where success led to a music-video opportunity with Bosco and Caesar.

He moved into modelling and television commercials, featuring in ads for brands such as Quikr, Tata Sky, ITI, Yatra.com and Videocon D2H. Theatre work also formed part of his grounding; he performed in plays including The Job. On-screen, his feature film debut in Hindi came with Ranbanka (2015) in the role of Kantu. He later took a lead role in the Bhojpuri film Nachaniya (2017), for which he prepared by learning Kathak.

He has also contributed as a screenwriter to Hindi short films such as Traash (2019) and Begum (2020), and worked as a screenwriter on the 2023 Hindi film Kakuda – A Horror Comedy.

On the music front, Dwivedi and his wife have featured in several Hindi music videos, including Chand (2021), Supna (2021) and Tere Bina (2022). In 2021 he appeared on the cover of Expresso magazine. He and his wife founded Sambhavi Entertainment Private Limited, a film production company, on 8 February 2021.
