Early life and background

Ayesha Kanga was born on 7 August 1995 in Mumbai and grew up there. Raised primarily by her mother, Suneeta Sodhi Kanga, who worked as an etiquette coach and was formerly associated with Miss World Airlines, Ayesha spent her formative years alongside her sister Trisha Kanga, who works as a dancer and choreographer. She attended St. Xavier’s College in Mumbai and later studied design, earning a Bachelor of Design from the National Institute of Design in Ahmedabad. Her education also includes study at the Saint-Étienne Higher School of Art and Design in France.

Career

Ayesha began her professional life in the design world. Early roles included work as a UI/UX designer, and in 2017 she joined Adobe in Bangalore as a graphic designer. Within a short time, her interests shifted toward modelling and performance.

Her screen debut came in 2011 on television, appearing in the Disney Channel show Best of Luck Nikki as Sheena. Over the next several years she took on small acting parts and cameos in television series such as Gumrah: End of Innocence, The Suite Life of Karan & Kabir, and an appearance on the National Geographic series Mega Icons.

Modelling assignments followed. Ayesha competed successfully in youth-focused contests, winning the Times Fresh Face title in 2011. She later modelled for print campaigns and commercials, working with brands including Bridal India, Tanishq, Reliance Jewels, Coca-Cola, Sunsilk and Oppo Mobile. She moved into fashion shows as well, walking the ramp at Lakmé Fashion Week for the first time in 2017. Her editorial work has appeared in magazines such as Mind Magazine, Femina and Cosmopolitan.

On-screen projects expanded beyond Indian television. In 2023 she appeared in the Hindi web series Class, playing the character Yashika Mehta; that same year she also had a role as Dominique in the English-language film The Blood Priestess. She has long been represented by the Indian talent agency INEGA.

Ayesha’s background in design and advertising has informed a public profile that blends creative disciplines. Alongside modelling and acting she has maintained an interest in visual and digital work, and in 2021 she began uploading her television commercial videos to a self-titled YouTube channel she started on 21 April 2021.
