Ayesha Mehreen Omar was born on 12 October 1981 in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. She grew up in Lahore and completed her schooling at Lahore Grammar School before attending the National College of Arts, where she earned both undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in fine arts.
