Ayesha Raza Mishra was born on 26 September 1977 in Uttar Pradesh. She attended Blue Mountain High School. Born into a family with theatrical roots—her mother Salima Raza worked in theatre and her grand aunts include noted performers Zohra Sehgal and Uzra Butt—Ayesha developed an early interest in performance. She has two sisters, one of whom, Huma, is deceased. Her father was Asad Raza.

Career

Ayesha began her career in theatre, commercials and television before moving steadily into film and digital work. Her first film appearance came in 2003 with Raghu Romeo, where she appeared as a news reader. She continued to take a wide range of supporting roles across formats, contributing voice work to animated films and performing in short films alongside mainstream features.

Over the years she built a reputation for playing strong character parts, frequently cast as mothers in films and series. Notable early screen roles include Sejal Agarwal in Mumbai Meri Jaan (2008) and a role in Thanks Maa (2010). She provided voice work in the animated films Return of Hanuman (2007) and Krishna Aur Kans (2012).

Recent screen work includes the ZEE5 series Sutliyan (2022), the anthology Tell It Like a Woman (2022), Sharmaji Namkeen (2022), Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar (2023) and the TV series The Freelancer, which was scheduled for release in 2023.
