Early life and backgroundBabloo Prithiveeraj was born on 29 November 1965 in Bangalore (now Bengaluru), Karnataka, and grew up with ties to Chennai, which he lists as his hometown. He attended Asan Memorial Senior Secondary School in Chennai and later studied at the Film and Television Institute of India in Pune. In 2019 he was awarded a doctorate degree.
Career
Prithiveeraj’s screen career began as a child artist. He appeared in early Tamil films beginning in 1971 and continued to take roles across South Indian film industries as he matured. He moved between Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada projects, building a reputation for versatility and for playing strong supporting and negative characters.
In Telugu cinema he earned particular notice for the antagonist Prakash in Pelli Pandiri (1997), a performance that brought him the Nandi Award for Best Villain. Over the years he has taken a wide range of film parts, including roles in Vaaranam Aayiram (2008), Neerthirai (2019), NTR: Mahanayakudu (2019), Balamevvadu (2022) and Skanda: The Attacker (2023).
