Early life and background
Barun Sobti was born on 21 August 1984 in Delhi, India. Raised in a Punjabi family, he attended St. Mark’s School in New Delhi. Before entering the entertainment industry he worked for several years as an operations manager at a BPO in New Delhi. He is married to his childhood friend Pashmeen Manchanda; the couple wed on 12 December 2010 and have a daughter, Sifat, who was born on 28 June 2019.

Sobti began his acting journey after images of him were sent to a television director when a friend could not take a role; his TV debut came in the series Shraddha in 2009.
