Bhavya Bishnoi was born on 16 February 1993 in New Delhi and raised in a family with a long record of public service in Haryana. He completed his schooling at The Shri Ram School in Gurugram, where he distinguished himself academically and was appointed school president. His higher education includes a bachelor’s degree in Government and Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science, a master’s degree in Modern South Asian Studies (MSc) from Oxford University where he graduated with first class honours, and a master’s degree in Public Administration from Harvard Kennedy School.

Sport and extracurriculars were part of his formative years. While at LSE he captained the university cricket team, and later represented Oxford University Cricket Club, earning an Oxford Blue for his contributions on the field. He has cited an earlier ambition to pursue cricket, including representing Delhi at under-15 level, before choosing a path in public life.

Career

Bhavya Bishnoi entered electoral politics from a young age. He contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Hisar on an Indian National Congress ticket but was not successful. In 2022 he stood for the Adampur assembly bypoll on a Bharatiya Janata Party ticket and won the seat, defeating his opponent by a margin of 15,740 votes. That vacancy had been created after his father resigned the Adampur seat upon switching parties.

Alongside his electoral work, Bishnoi has been involved in policy and development initiatives. He founded the Bhajan Global Impact Foundation in 2018, a nonprofit focused on evidence-based policy and collaborative development interventions. He has also held a role with The Global Education & Leadership Foundation as Special Projects Lead, where he helped co-manage and co-lead Global Citizen India.
