Binu Adimali was born on 20 October 1976 in Adimali, Idukki, Kerala. He grew up in a farming household; his father is named Babu. He attended school through the 12th standard and left formal education thereafter to take on responsibilities supporting his family.

From a young age he was drawn to mimicry and took part in school-level competitions. That early interest led him and friends to form a mimicry troupe called Adimali Sagara, through which he began performing locally. He later adopted Adimali as part of his professional name to reflect his connection to his native village.

His screen debut came in the Malayalam movie Thalsamayam Oru Penkutty (2012), in which he played the character Kannan.
