Vijay Singh Deol, professionally known as Bobby Deol, was born on 27 January 1969 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Raised in a family deeply connected to Indian cinema, he is the younger son of veteran actor Dharmendra and Prakash Kaur. Bobby grew up in Mumbai and completed his schooling at Jamnabai Narsee School and Mayo College, Ajmer, before earning a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Mithibai College. He comes from a Sikh Jatt family and was given the childhood nickname Bobby, which he later adopted as his stage name.
