Burak Özçivit was born on 24 December 1984 and grew up in Istanbul, Turkey. He completed his secondary education at Kazım İşmen High School and later studied photography at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Marmara University. Özçivit is Turkish and was raised in a family that includes his father, Bülent Özçivit, and his mother, Ceyhan Özçivit. He has an older sister, Burçun Özçivit, who is known online.
