Early life and background
Chetan Hansraj was born on 15 June 1972 in Mumbai, the city where he grew up and launched his career. He attended Jamnabai Narsee School and went on to study commerce at Mithibai College of Arts, Chauhan Institute of Science & Amrutben Jivanlal College of Commerce and Economics, earning a B.Com degree. From childhood he was drawn to modelling and acting, influenced in part by a relative who worked in the industry.

He started working very young, appearing as a child model in hundreds of print and television advertisements. At around 14 he took on one of his earliest screen roles, portraying young Balram in the television epic Mahabharat. Alongside his entertainment work, he was active in sports during school and college and competed at the state level in water polo.

Chetan’s screen career spans modelling, television and films. After establishing himself as a child model and commercial performer, he took on a variety of supporting and character roles on television.
