Chinmay Chandraunshuh was born on 9 March and grew up in Yamunanagar, Haryana. He attended Mukand Lal Public School in his hometown and later moved to Mumbai for higher studies, earning a bachelor's degree from Deviprasad Goenka Management College of Media Studies. Acting was an early passion for him; he took part in stage plays while still at school.

Chinmay began his film career as a child actor and gained recognition for his role in the 2011 Hindi film Chillar Party, for which he won the Best Child Artist award at the 59th National Film Awards and also received a Dadasaheb Phalke Award.
