Chirag Patil was born on 10 March 1987 and is an Indian national. He grew up in a family with strong cricketing roots: his father is former Indian cricketer Sandeep Patil and his mother is Deepa Patil. He also has a brother, Prateek Patil, who works as a filmmaker. Chirag attended King George School in Dadar and later went to R. D. National College, Mumbai.

As a child he remembers being restless at home and school and has said he did not enjoy studying. Although surrounded by legendary cricketers at family gatherings, Chirag did not take to the sport and has described being encouraged by his father to pursue other interests. At 18 he held a first job at his uncle’s factory in Pune where he handled stock records.

Chirag Patil works primarily as an actor in Marathi and Hindi films and television. His earliest credited screen work includes Hindi film Chargesheet (2011) and the Marathi film Raada Rox (2011). He made his Marathi television debut in 2015, playing the character Deva in the Star Pravah series Yek Number.
