Chittaranjan Tripathy was born in Chandabali in the Bhadrak district of Odisha. He completed a Master of Arts in Sociology and pursued formal training in the performing arts, attending the National School of Drama in Delhi and the Guildford School of Acting in London. He also studied at the University of Hyderabad. Tripathy began his professional life in theatre before moving into film and television.

Career

Tripathy made a multi-hyphenate film debut in 2007 with the Odia feature Dhauli Express, taking on responsibilities that included producing, directing, writing the script, composing music, writing lyrics and singing.
