Christopher Scott Kyle was born on April 8, 1974, in Odessa, Texas. He grew up in Texas and completed his high school education in Midlothian in 1992. After high school he attended Tarleton State University in Stephenville from 1992 to 1994, where he began studies in agriculture but left before finishing that program.

Career

Kyle enlisted in the U.S. Navy and went on to serve as a Navy SEAL. He joined the SEALs in 1999 and served with SEAL Team 3 until 2009, ultimately holding the rank of Chief Petty Officer.
