Early life and background

Csaba Wagner was born on 4 March 1986 in Hungary. Raised with an early fascination for audio, he began exploring sounds used in video games and films from a young age. He later relocated to Los Angeles at age 24 to pursue a professional career in sound for film and interactive entertainment.

Career

Wagner's career began in visual effects and 3D work before he concentrated on sound. In 2006 he worked as a CG artist and 3D modeller, and over the following years he held roles that included sound designer, sound effects editor and supervising sound editor. His early industry experience included positions at companies such as Xayron Corp and a four‑month internship at Danetracks. By 2011 he was working at Soundelux Design Music Group, and in 2013 he joined Formosa Group and E Squared while also taking on senior sound roles at Source Sound, Inc.

Over time Wagner expanded into supervisory and leadership positions. After roughly six years at Source Sound, he moved to Sweet Justice Sound in 2019 as a supervising sound designer and became company director in 2020. His skill set covers sound design, sound editing, recording and mixing, and his credits span both film and video games.

Wagner has contributed sound design work to more than fifty projects. His credits include films and game franchises such as Resident Evil 6 (2012), Ratchet & Clank (2016), Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019) and Halo Infinite (2021). He is also credited as a producer on the short Things That Bleed (2018) and as an executive producer on Two Ways to Go West (2020). Earlier in his career he provided visual effects on the Hungarian film Randevú (2006).
