Early life and background
Daggubati Suresh Babu was born on 24 December 1958 in Madras (now Chennai), Tamil Nadu. He grew up in a family already connected to the film business: his father was producer Daggubati Ramanaidu and his mother Rajeshwari Daggubati. Suresh attended Don Bosco Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Chennai and completed a Pre-University Course before studying engineering. He began his mechanical engineering studies at the College of Engineering, Guindy, Chennai, and later finished his degree at the University of Michigan in the United States. He lists his hometown as Karamchedu in Prakasam district, Andhra Pradesh, and holds Indian nationality. His listed height is approximately 178 cm (5'10"), with black eyes and salt-and-pepper hair.

Career
After returning to India with an engineering degree, Suresh Babu initially considered launching a business but eventually joined his father’s production enterprise.
