Early life and background
Daisy Shah was born on 25 August 1984 in Mumbai and grew up in the city. She comes from a Gujarati family; her mother is Pallavi Shah and her elder sister Deepali Shah acts as her business manager. Her father worked as a floor manager in a clothing mill and died in 2007 from a heart attack.

Daisy showed interest in dance from a young age, taking part in school dance competitions and, as a teenager, winning the Miss Photogenic prize at a local Miss Dombivali contest. She attended Guru Nanak Khalsa College in Mumbai and pursued studies in the arts, leaving during the final year. She identifies as Hindu.

Career
Daisy began in the film industry as an extra and background dancer. In the early 2000s she worked with choreographer Ganesh Acharya’s team on films such as Tere Naam, Masti, and Rang De Basanti, and later served as an assistant choreographer on projects with Salman Khan. Her first credited on-screen appearances include a special song appearance in the Tamil film Pori (2007), song appearances in the Malayalam film Vandae Maatharam (2010) and the Hindi film Khuda Kasam (2010), and an acting role in the Kannada film Bhadra (2011) as Kavya.

She went on to appear in films across languages, including Gujarat 11 (Gujarati, 2019) as Divya Chauhan and a special song appearance in the Marathi film Daagadi Chawl 2 (2022). Other Hindi credits listed include Hate Story 3 (2015), Ramratan (2017), Race 3 (2018), and Mystery of the Tattoo (2023).
