Danesh Irani was born in Mumbai, India, in 1985 and raised in the same city. He is the son of actor Boman Irani and Zenobia Irani and grew up alongside his brother Kayoze Irani. Danesh completed higher education in the United States, earning an MBA in marketing from Rutgers University, New Jersey, in 2010.

Career

Danesh has built a varied career that spans events management, film production and the performing arts. His early professional roles included a year as an events manager with Purple Cherry Events in London, beginning in January 2009, followed by a stint as business development manager at Exquity Events in Dubai from September 2011 to September 2012.

In 2012 he made an appearance on MTV’s television show Bring On The Night. The following year he joined Dharma Productions in Mumbai as a line producer, a role he held from January 2013 until March 2018. In February 2019 he co-founded a Mumbai-based film production company, Irani Movietone.

Alongside his corporate and production work, Danesh is active in theatre. After training that included a certification in speech and drama, he worked with his father in the stage play Rusty Screws and later performed in productions such as The Class Art, I’m Bawa and I Know It, and Amar Akbar Akoori.
