Deepak Virendra Kochhar was born on 15 February 1961 in Mumbai, where he has spent much of his life. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Mumbai and went on to pursue a Master’s in Finance at the Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies.
