Early life and backgroundDeepshikha Nagpal was born on 20 August 1977 in Mumbai. Raised in a family with deep roots in the performing arts, her father Ashwini Kumar Nagpal worked as a writer and actor and her mother, Shraddha Panchotia, was an actress. Her grandfather, Vithaldas Panchotia, was also involved in film as an actor and director. Deepshikha’s younger sister Aarti Nagpal is an actress as well.
Career
Deepshikha began her film career in the mid-1990s, making her screen debut in the 1994 film Betaaj Badshah. She established a steady presence in both cinema and television through the late 1990s and 2000s. Early television roles included an appearance in the Doordarshan series Dastaan E Hatimtai in 1996, where she played Neelam Pari. On the big screen she portrayed characters such as Bindya in the 1997 film Koyla and appeared in titles including Baadshah (1999), Agniputra (2000), Partner (2007) and Bhram: An Illusion (2008).
On television she has been seen in serials like Karishma — The Miracles of Destiny (2003), Son Pari (2000), Baa Bahoo Aur Baby (2005), Baal Veer (2013) and Main Bhi Ardhangini (2019). Among her early notable work was the portrayal of Paroma and Sheraali in the popular 1997 series Shaktimaan which aired on Doordarshan.
