Devansh Yadav was born on 10 July 1990 in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh. He grew up in a middle-class family and completed his schooling in Mathura, attending Army School and St. Dominic’s Senior Secondary School. He went on to study medicine at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, graduating with an MBBS degree and working as a junior resident at the institute.

Career

After completing his medical training, Yadav sat for the UPSC examination in 2015 and secured a place in the Indian Administrative Service. He belongs to the 2016 batch and was allotted the AGMUT (Arunachal, Goa, Mizoram & Union Territories) cadre.

Yadav began his administrative career with training at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration in Mussoorie as an officer trainee. Following Phase II of his training, he served as Assistant Secretary in the Department of Land Resources of the Government of India from 2 July 2018 to 28 September 2018. He later held the post of Assistant Collector in Puducherry and was appointed Deputy Commissioner of Changlang district in Arunachal Pradesh in 2020.

As Deputy Commissioner of Changlang district, Yadav led several local initiatives. He oversaw construction of pre-fabricated Anganwadi centres to support early childhood services. He promoted a community-based de-addiction model known as Kengkhu and organized COVID-19 vaccination campaigns across the district.
