Early life and background

Divij Surapaneni was born on 15 October 2006 in Pune, Maharashtra. His family later relocated to Bangalore, where he continued his education and early football development. He attended Army Public School in Pune before moving to The Sports School in Bangalore, a setting that combined formal studies with intensive football training.

At The Sports School he rose quickly through the youth ranks, moving from the under-15 side to the under-19s within roughly two years. That period helped establish him as a regular centre-back at youth level and set the stage for further opportunities with Bengaluru FC’s youth program, which operates in cooperation with The Sports School.

Career

Divij’s formal association with Bengaluru FC began around 2023 when he joined the club’s youth setup through the joint development program with The Sports School. In 2024 he progressed into the Bengaluru FC Reserves, featuring in competitions such as the KSFA Super Division and the Reliance Foundation Development League.
