Early life and background

Rajesh Shah was born on 18 January 1963 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. He grew up and was educated in Mumbai, attending IES New English Primary School, Ramji Assar Vidyalaya and South Indian Education Society High School. He completed his homeopathic medical training at Smt. CMP Homeopathic Medical College and Mumbadevi Homeopathic Hospital, receiving an MD in Homeopathy after studies from 1980 to 1985.

Career

In 1985 Shah opened his first clinic in Mumbai and went on to build a practice network known as Life Force. He later established a second clinic called BioSimilia and has been involved in clinical practice, teaching and research across his career.

Shah's work spans clinical care, research projects and publication. His research has included work on HIV, Hepatitis C, psoriasis, vitiligo and homeopathic pathogenetic trials. He has authored several books focused on homeopathic treatment, including titles on Ferrum Metallicum and lichen planus, urticaria, and vitiligo. More than a dozen scientific articles and papers by Shah appear in national and international journals and conference proceedings, covering topics such as potentized capsaicin trials, hepatitis C nosode preparation and pathogenetic trials, and hydroquinone pathogenetic trials.

Between the 1990s and the 2000s he delivered seminars and workshops in locations including the United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Belgium, Holland, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Sweden, Norway, Japan and Greece. He has spoken at national conferences such as the Homeopathic Medical Association of India gatherings, as well as at multidisciplinary healthcare conferences in India.

Shah has held leadership and editorial roles in the homeopathy community. He has served as secretary of the Global Homeopathy Foundation, been appointed a director of Homoeopathy India Foundation, and worked as an editor for Homoeopathy Times. He has been a member of special committees related to drug standardization and human pathogenetic trials, and has been recognized for his contributions to research and practice.

Over his career Shah has received several awards and acknowledgements. Early recognition included entries in the Limca Book of Records for having treated patients from numerous countries. He received a Star Entrepreneur Award in January 2009 and an International Status Award from the Economic Growth Society of India in August 2009. He was honored with the Bhartiya Chikitsak Ratna Award in September 2009. In April 2018 he received a national award from the Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH) under India’s Ministry of AYUSH for research on a Mycobacterium tuberculosis nosode.
