Early life and background

Durjoy Datta was born on 7 February 1987 in Mehsana, Gujarat, and grew up in New Delhi. He attended Bal Bharati Public School in Pitampura, Delhi, and went on to study mechanical engineering at Delhi Technological University, where he completed a BTech. He later pursued a PGDM in marketing at the Management Development Institute in Gurgaon and undertook study at the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management.

Reading was central to Datta’s childhood: his parents encouraged regular reading and he developed an early habit of consuming books by children’s and contemporary authors. During his college years he began writing short pieces about campus life and relationships on social platforms, which formed the basis for his first published work.

Career

Datta began his professional life working as a piping engineer at Siemens AG soon after graduation.
