Muhammad Faizan Sheikh was born on 5 September 1986 in Karachi, Sindh. Raised in the city he still calls home, he completed a bachelor’s degree at Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology in Karachi. His family includes his mother, veteran actress Parveen Akbar, and a sister, Rabya Kulsoom, who is also an actress. Faizan is married to fellow actor Maham Aamir; the couple wed on 13 August 2018 and have a daughter, Haadiya Faizan.

Career

Faizan Sheikh began his performing life on stage, taking lead and character roles in several theatre productions before moving into television in 2012. His early TV work included the role of Ashfaq in the drama Man Ke Moti. He continued to build a profile on television with parts such as Aslam in Riffat Appa Ki Bahuein (2015), Minhaaj in Dil-e-Barbaad (2016), and Adnan in Ghairat (2017).

His film debut came with Maalik (2016), in which he played Muneer. He later appeared in supporting and lead film roles: a supporting role as Biscuit in Parchi (2018), and a lead portrayal of Wajdaan in Heer Maan Ja (2019). For his performance in Heer Maan Ja he earned a nomination for Best Actor in a Negative Role at the International Pakistan Prestige Awards (IPPA) in 2021.

Faizan has worked across genres, including comedy and horror. From 2017 to 2020 he played Pyaare in the sitcom Ready Steady Go on Play Entertainment, a show that also featured his mother and his wife. In 2021 he took a lead role in the horror film Udham Patakh.

Alongside acting, Faizan has a visible presence as a presenter. He hosted The Mazedar Show on TV One and co-hosted the morning programme Salam Zindagi on ARY Zindagi. His work in hosting complements his on-screen acting roles and contributes to his recognition in Pakistani entertainment.
