Early life and background
Gashmeer Mahajani was born on 8 June 1985 in Pune. Raised in a family connected to the arts, he is the son of Marathi actor Ravindra Mahajani and his mother Madhu Mahajani. He attended Abhinava Vidyalaya English Medium High School in Pune and went on to graduate from Brihan Maharashtra College of Commerce.

At 15 he began teaching dance and launched his own dance studio to help support his family. That early responsibility shaped his work ethic: he has spoken about taking on paid work and learning from his mother’s example during financially difficult times. He maintains a regular yoga practice for breath control and fitness and has described dance and acting as complementary disciplines.

Career
Gashmeer’s on-screen debut came in the Hindi film Muskurake Dekh Zara (2010), where he played the role of Vivek. After that initial film appearance he spent several years concentrating on theatre before returning more steadily to cinema.
