Gaurav Gupta was born on 10 September 1984 and grew up in Kaushambi, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. He attended Andhra Education Society Sri Durgabai Deshmukh Memorial School in New Delhi and later enrolled at ITS Dental College in Ghaziabad, where he completed a Bachelor of Dental Surgery. He is Hindu by religion and belongs to the Vaishya (Baniya) community.

Gupta trained and worked as a dental practitioner while developing a parallel career in comedy.
