Gaurav Khanna was born on 11 December 1980 in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. He holds Indian nationality and follows Hinduism. Khanna completed a Master of Business Administration before moving into modelling and television. He lists gymming and painting among his hobbies and cites a fondness for Punjabi home cooking such as chhole bhature.

Career
Khanna began his on-screen journey with modelling assignments and television commercials. He made his television acting debut in 2006, playing Bhuvan Sareen in the serial Bhabhi. Over the years he became known for roles in shows including Kumkum, Love Ne Mila Di Jodi and Yeh Pyar Na Hoga Kam.
