Geeta Bharat Jain was born on 5 July 1964 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Raised in the city she continues to call home, she completed her schooling at M.A. High School in Andheri and attended Bhavan's College in Mumbai. She later earned a Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology from a private polytechnic in Santacruz.

Career

Jain's public life has been rooted in local governance. She first won election as a corporator in the Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Corporation in 2002. After a second term beginning in 2012, she advanced to become the mayor of the Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Corporation, serving from 2015 to 2017. She was re-elected as a corporator in 2017 and continued to play an active role in municipal affairs.

In 2019 Jain contested the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly election from the Mira-Bhayandar constituency as an independent candidate and won, defeating the sitting BJP legislator. That victory brought her into the 14th Maharashtra Legislative Assembly as the constituency's representative.
