Geetika Vidya Ohlyan was born on 28 August 1991 in Haryana. She grew up in that state and completed her undergraduate studies in English Literature at Kirori Mal College before earning a Master’s degree in English Literature from Delhi University. She is the youngest among her siblings and her mother’s name is Vidya. Her father worked with a theatre group and helped organise theatre festivals in Haryana.

Career

Ohlyan began her artistic journey in theatre. During college she wrote and directed several plays and later performed in stage productions, including multiple performances in the musical Zangoora presented by the Kingdom of Dreams. Her theatre background led to a screen acting debut in the 2018 film Soni, in which she played the title role.

After Soni, she appeared in two short films in 2019, Nawaab and Custody, and went on to act in feature films including Thappad (2020), Unpaused (2020) and Barah by Barah (2021). Her performance work also extends to web series: she played Mehal in the MX Player series Pawan & Pooja (2020) and has been seen in Disney+ Hotstar productions Escaype Live (2022) and School of Lies (2023).
