Gracy Singh was born on 20 July 1980 in Delhi into a Sikh family. She attended Manav Sthali School in Delhi and went on to complete a graduation in arts. From a young age she trained in Bharatanatyam during school holidays and developed an early interest in both acting and classical dance.

While pursuing her degree she joined a dance group called Planets, which provided an early platform for performance and continuity in dance training.

Gracy began her screen career on television. In 1997 she auditioned for and was cast in the Zee TV serial Amanat, appearing as the character Dinky. Her film debut in Hindi came the following year in Sar Utha Ke Jiyo (1998).
