Hadi Choopan was born on 26 September 1987 in Sepidan County, Fars Province, Iran. Raised in the same region he later lists as his hometown, Choopan developed an interest in physical training and sport from his teenage years. He has described a hearing issue that affected him early in life, and his early working years included manual labor at construction sites alongside family members.

As an adolescent he experimented with boxing before concentrating on bodybuilding. A brother encouraged him to join a gym, and by his late teens he was competing at regional and national levels. At around 21 he won the Fars Province bodybuilding championship and placed third in a national contest, while still relatively light compared with his later competitive mass.

Career

Choopan’s competitive history spans provincial meets through the highest levels of international bodybuilding. Between 2003 and 2012 he amassed numerous provincial gold medals in Fars and Tehran provinces and added multiple national golds. He took part in continental and world events with a medal record that includes gold at the WBPF Asia Championships and appearances at the WBPF World Championships.
