Hansraj Raghuwanshi was born on 18 July 1992 in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh, and grew up in a family that later moved to Mangal Village in Kunihar Tehsil, Solan District. He attended local government schools in Kasol and Solan before enrolling at MLSM College in Sundernagar. During his college years he studied music and at one point pursued a commerce degree, leaving the B.Com program during his second year.

From a young age Hansraj participated in school singing competitions, though he stepped away from performing while in class 10. He has described a period of struggle after leaving college: moving to Delhi, taking on odd jobs, and later working in roles such as a dishwasher at his college canteen and as a delivery boy.
