Harjeet Singh Tuli was born on 2 January 1996 in Kurali, Punjab, India. He grew up in Kurali and attended Chakwal Senior Secondary School. His father worked as a truck driver and his mother is Balwinder Kaur. He has a sister named Harpreet Kaur. Harjeet follows the Sikh faith and is known to be non-vegetarian. He began playing hockey at age eleven in 2004.

Career

Harjeet trained initially at the Gopal Hockey Academy in Kurali before moving to the Surjit Hockey Academy in Jalandhar in 2008. Surjit Academy has a strong record of producing national-level players, and Harjeet credits mentors including Patwari Sohan Singh Lal and coach Amrutpal Singh for guiding his development.

He plays as a midfielder and has represented state and professional sides including the Punjab junior team, the Uttar Pradesh Wizards and the Delhi Waveriders in domestic competition. The Delhi Waveriders acquired him for the Hockey India League in 2015, a season in which he won the Jugraj Singh Upcoming Player of the Year award for his performances.
