Early life and background

Himika Bose was born on 13 February 1996 in Kolkata and grew up in a Bengali family. Her father, Manas Bose, has worked in the Indian Customs & Indirect Taxes department and her mother is Tanushree Bose. She has an elder brother named Sambit Bose. Himika later moved to Mumbai with her family.

She trained in dance from a young age and received a scholarship from a dance institute in 2014; while training there she was noticed by a film director who offered her a role. Himika also trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School in Bristol, England.

Career

Himika’s career spans acting, modeling and dance. She made her Hindi film debut with a small role in Pad Man (2018) where she appeared as a medical college student. The following year she appeared in the Malayalam film Valiyaperunnal (2019) as Pooja and also played Shravya Sharma in the Hindi web series The Insiders (2019), which streamed on MX Player.

Since then she has taken roles across films, web series and short films. Her film credits include Jai Mummy Di (2020), and she has appeared in short films such as Money Heist X Free Fire: Summer Holiday Heist (2020), The Tipping Point (2021) and What If I Fail (2022). On the streaming front she has been part of multiple web series: The Glitch (2020) on YouTube; Jugaadistan (2022) and Feels Like Home (2022) on Lionsgate Play; and ImMature (2023) on Amazon Prime Video. Early in her career she won a Best Actor Award in 2017.
