Early life and background

Hira Mani was born on 27 February 1989 in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. She completed her schooling in Karachi and later earned a bachelor’s degree after getting married. She is Pakistani by nationality and practices Islam. Hira is one of several siblings and is a twin; her twin brother is Hasan Jamal. Her father, the late Syed Farrukh Jamal, worked in banking, and her mother, Naheed Jamal, is employed at The Educators.

Career

Hira Mani’s media career began as a video jockey. Her first television role in hosting came in 2010 when she co-hosted Hum 2 Humara Show on HUM TV with her husband, Mani. The following year she and her husband hosted another program titled Hira Mani Show. She made the transition into acting with a noted early appearance in the television project Meri Teri Kahani (2013), where she played a character named Hira. Over the years she has appeared in more than 20 television dramas, with prominent roles in series such as Jab We Wed (2014), Firaaq (2014), Bandish (2019) and Mein Hari Piya (2021).

In addition to television serials, Hira has acted in TV films and feature films. She appeared in the TV film Chaman Ara (2015) and subsequently in the films Shilae Maseen (2016) and Dil Toh Bacha Hai (2019). Hira has also explored singing: she performed the title track for the drama Thays (2018), contributed songs for the music series Kashmir Beats (Sawaari and Tamanna for Seasons 1 and 2 respectively), and recorded the duet Taare (2022) with Raafay Israr.
