Early life and background
Ibrahim Zadran was born on 12 December 2001 in Khost, Afghanistan. Raised in a sporting family, he watched his uncle Noor Ali Zadran play international cricket and later practised at his family’s farm in Khost with relatives and friends, including future national teammates. He grew up in Khost and developed into a right-handed batsman with black hair and black eyes.

Career
Zadran progressed through Afghanistan’s age-group teams and made his domestic List A debut for Mis Ainak Region in August 2017. He played his first T20 for Mis Ainak Region the following month and made his first-class debut for Band-e-Amir Region in March 2018. He was Afghanistan Under-19’s highest run-scorer in both the 2018 and 2020 Under-19 World Cups, and he represented Afghanistan Under-23 in the 2018 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup.

Internationally, Zadran made his Test debut on 5 September 2019 against Bangladesh, reaching a fifty across the match. He played his first T20 international on 14 November 2019 against the West Indies and his ODI debut followed on 11 November 2019 against the West Indies.
