Early life and background
Inder Sahani was born on 27 October 1995 and grew up in Delhi after his family moved there when he was in fifth grade. He attended D.A.V. Public School in Delhi and later studied at P.G.D.A.V. College, University of Delhi, where he completed a Bachelor of Commerce with Honours (2013–2016). He comes from a Punjabi family; his parents are Rajesh and Reema Sahani, and he has two siblings, a brother named Karan and a sister named Sonia.

Career
Inder discovered performance work early, beginning theatre at about fourteen and frequently being cast in comic roles thanks to his timing. In his final school year a teacher introduced him to stand-up comedy, and he cites performers such as Raju Srivastav, Sunil Pal and Kapil Sharma among the early influences who nudged him toward the genre.

He began performing stand-up at age 21, debuting at an open mic at Akshara Theatre in New Delhi. His first few open-mic sets did not go well and he considered quitting, but he persisted. One of his breakthrough pieces, prepared over sixteen months, addressed everyday characters and situations and later found a large audience after being posted on the Chai-Matthi Tales YouTube channel. By 2021 that video had accumulated more than five million views.

In 2017 Sahani co-founded the Chai-Matthi Tales comedy collective with Ravi Khurana and Gourav Mahna. The group produces live stand-up shows, parody videos, sketches for YouTube and web series, and the collective has become an important platform for his recorded work.

Sahani won the Flipkart Video stand-up competition Sabse Funny Kaun? which was released on 28 September 2020 and hosted by actor-comedian Varun Sharma. In 2021 he toured many Indian cities with his comedy special Ab Hai Apki Baari, a tour he described as one of his biggest professional dreams.

Public profile
Sahani stands around 170 cm (5'7") and has described himself as non-vegetarian. His favourite city to perform is Delhi and among his preferred sets is a routine titled Pilot, Sundar Air-Hostess & Plane Crash, which he later published on his personal YouTube channel. He has named contemporary stand-up performers Abhishek Upmanyu, Zakir Khan and Nishant Tanwar as comedians he admires, and cites actors Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan among his favorite screen personalities.

Sahani has been open about personal changes in the public eye; during the COVID-19 lockdown he undertook a focused weight-loss effort inspired by fellow comic Jeeveshu Ahluwalia and followed a strict regimen for several weeks.

Latest updates
Following the success of early videos and the growth of Chai-Matthi Tales, Sahani continued to expand his live shows and online presence. His tour for Ab Hai Apki Baari in 2021 reached multiple Indian cities, and he remains active uploading stand-up material to his self-titled YouTube channel and to the Chai-Matthi Tales channel.

Personal notes
Sahani is unmarried. He has listed Butter Chicken among his favorite foods and counts the films Bhagam Bhag and Hera Pheri among the comedies he enjoys. He has also mentioned journalist Anjana Om Kashyap when asked about people he follows.
