Indira Ampiot Biography
Indira Ampiot is a French model from Basse-Terre, Guadeloupe, who rose to national prominence after winning Miss France 2023. Before that she held the Miss
Early life and backgroundIndira Ampiot was born on September 19, 2004, in Basse-Terre, Guadeloupe. Raised in a family with ties to communications and sports, she is the daughter of Didier Ampiot, who runs a communications and marketing agency, and Béatrice Téjou, who works in the social security sector. Her parents are divorced. Indira has an older brother and counts footballer Frédéric Tejou among her relatives.
She completed her baccalauréat with honors in 2022. From childhood she showed creative interests: drawing and sketching were long-standing hobbies, and she took part in her school choir during primary school. As a youngster she entertained varied dreams, including becoming an astronaut, a pediatrician, or working in research and artistic direction.
Career
Indira began competing in pageants in 2022. She first won the Miss Basse-Terre title and went on to be crowned Miss Guadeloupe 2022. Those regional victories qualified her to represent Guadeloupe at the national Miss France contest, where she was named Miss France 2023. She is the fourth woman from Guadeloupe to win that national title. After her year as Miss France she passed the Miss Guadeloupe crown to Jalylane Maës on July 19, 2023.
Before and during her pageant career Indira planned to pursue further studies in communication in Paris and expressed interest in gaining experience in visual advertising, communication, and design with the goal of becoming an art director. Her modelling work and public appearances have included television programs such as Fort Boyard, and she met international film actor Brad Pitt during her tenure as Miss France.
Public profile
Indira stands about 1.75 m (5'9") and has brown hair and brown eyes. Her listed measurements and a reported weight reflect her background as a professional model. She has been noted in media coverage for a resemblance to the singer Rihanna.
Indira combines her public role with social engagement. Causes she supports include animal rescue, expanding educational opportunities for underprivileged children, environmental initiatives, advocacy for women’s rights, and efforts to fight cancer—an issue that became personally significant after her grandmother died from the disease in 2022. She is known to keep two personal lucky charms: a ring from her father and a bracelet that belonged to her grandmother.
Personal notes and health
Indira is unmarried. She has described challenges and health issues she has experienced: asthma that can provoke attacks, three fractured arms at different times, burn marks from a curling iron, a childhood scar on her lip, and an episode when mosquito bites led to heavy bleeding, high fever, and significant weight loss. She follows a disciplined fitness routine, working out for up to two hours daily, and practices relaxation techniques such as yoga and herbal remedies.
She enjoys singing (self-described as a "bathroom singer"), sketching, and drawing. Favorite cultural preferences listed include films such as Fast and Furious and the Harry Potter series, and the song "Et si tu n'existais pas" by Joe Dassin. Indira owns a dog and is an animal lover.
